The sound of slightly strained silence

Strained throat, that is. I seem to have collected a virus.

Of course, I've had some kind of sore throat every September since we moved to Canberra, but this one totally wins the sore throat thoroughness award. I keep just clocking off to sleep without realising it as well. Swallowing, oh the horror.

I am very bored, but I suspect the family are quite happy with the quiet, sleeping version of me (for a day or two at least).

I have to go to work on Monday, or I will incovenience several people who really don't deserve it, so please send all kinds of rapid healing thoughts Canberra-wise.

With the hospital stuff going on I'm not surprised. When I feel something like that coming on I consume as much honey as I can, usually stirred into hot drinks, and I try and get to bed early (though you're already sleeping). Hard to be scientific about it but my guess is that this kills the infection about half the time and reduces the recovery time for the other half. Besides, tea laced w honey (specifically Manuka honey and some kind of herb tea) is quite yummy so even if it did no good at all...

Thanks Roger. I have been drinking copious amounts of honey and lemon drinks, but we don't seem to get manuka honey here, more's the pity. I am starting to feel a bit more normal but so tired.

Yummy honey...

Oh, no, it's "Couples Communicating Via Blog" Syndrome!

Get well soon, Penthe. I wish I could send you some manuka honey.

Yeah, it's something that happens with hospital visits. Just wanted to let you know that I've been following your last few weeks and sending warm thoughts your way! We swear by Johnny Walker Black Label when we're feeling like you... kills the germs, or that's one rationalisation.
We're about due for lunch, aren't we? Let me know when you feel up to it. I'm back when you're back :)
